Isn’t that just jolly.

Hi.

I’m going to talk about summer jobs, since yesterday it was 60 degrees (F) on JANUARY 6TH!!!! WHEN IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE SNOWING LIKE MAD!!!!!! Anyways, it just reminded me on summer, since I went on a walk to visit the horses.

So. Last summer, I had a really good summer job. I was an accompanist. I played piano. And little violinist kids played violin at the same time, really loudly. I also brought my cello, because the lady who runs the camp I worked at wanted me to play in a chember group, and in orchestra, because she was short about 4 cellos. Oh, did I mention that it was at a camp for violinists and cellists (and violists) ages 5 to 17 who play using  the Suzuki method? The reason why I put viola players in parentheses is because, out of the entire camp population of 100 violins and 10 cellos, there were  only TWO VIOLAS. And one was, yours truly, my darlin little sister Savita. The other one was this simply ADORABLE little 5 year old who would never talk to anyone, she was so shy, with a short, shiny little-kid bowl cut named Dora.

When I got to the camp in the morning, I ran as fast as I could, lugging my cello, my 2 book bags and a music stand (total weight value: cello-12lbs, music stand-3lbs, book bag- 5lbs, total: 20 lbs), all on my SHOULDERS, since I have backpack straps on my cello case. I ran into a big room and sat down at this HORRIBLE keyboard. I HATE keyboards. The keys have no resistance, so if I so much as sneezed, thestupid plastic keys would press down and make a beautiful sound called cacophony.

(please forgive me if any words are missing a G or K or R, those three take alot of force to push down for some reason…..)

After I played for that group class, I would run upstairs, and put my cello under a table in a room where my friends taught group class. Then I would have an hour of free time (did you know that “free time” means “BUY CHOCOLATE AND SODA TIME” in Chinese? I bet you didn’t !).

Then I played for another group class. This was the one with Savita and Dora in it. The teacher called Savita “Suh-veeDa”, and she called Dora “Doo-rah”. I dont know why. After that class, I did chamber music and orchestra, then went to African dance camp.

I did half day work, half day African dance….

This year, I think I’ll work all day. African dance camp didn’t really teach me that much.

Rachel has a summer job picking mushrooms. I love the smell of mushrooms. They smell good. Rachie’s going to be quite rich.

Now, I must go. Even though it’s Sunday, I have math to do because I’m behind.
